started driving in 1976 and have about 40 cars in my time most were nothing special but i tried to make them special....Im a single dad of a daughter she is 17 now and we are putting together a 1980 chevy luv 4x4 with a semi hopped up 350. she is as big a gear head as i am. Auto are great bonding items we spend lots of time together working in "HER TRUCK".
That's ok.....most never outgrow their love of cars, and they keep us young at heart.
I've owned over 150 cars since I started driving in '78.....most of them muscle cars and classics (they were cheap then) Now, with a wife, two kids, a house.....I don't have the $$ the really nice rare ones cost, but I still like to pick up a project car when I can. I've got five right now besides my 3 daily drivers....sometimes I get one finished enough to drive and enjoy....makes it all worth it. Good investments too
SOOOOOOOOO very true.......but you know we are giving away our ages.......lol
First car was a 1972 Pinto wagon, me and my dad put a 289 out of a trashed Mustang used the stock c-4 tranny, welded the spider gears in the rearend (stock) it was fun and fast. kinda wish i still had it. Oh and we put side pipes on it..........
The 70 Mach-1 Mustang fastback I bought after my Maverick had a "Lear Jet" AM/FM 8-track in it....with two 6X9 Jensen co-axiels in back, and two 6 inch co-axiels in the front door panels....and boy, do I remember that matchbook trick! LOL
I also remember having like 4 cases to hold all my 8-track tapes....was hardly any room for passengers....it was like carrying luggage around all the time.
Now you can fit the same amount of music in a 5X5 inch CD case.....or just store 'em in a CD changer in the trunk
Back in the day, we would have never dreamed of such things
eight track....god i remember them.......had to fold a matchbook cover and wedge it in so the tape would not drag.....and of course the triaxials were a must......wow trip down memory lane. I now have the car of my high school dreams its a 1979 z-28 with T-tops and 4 on the floor.....its a blast to drive, motor is hopped up a bit.
I've got two undergoing restoration/modification....haven't owned one since my first, so I decided to relive a bit of my youth.
I love this car! I had a yellow one with a eight track paler and Jenson Triaxial speakers!!! Stock though.

For some reason I have a strange attraction to the '76 Maverick Stallion. The first car I drove (after getting my license) was my dad's '75 Camaro. A few years later I bought a 1972 Mustang Mach 1 (which I still own), then my uncle sold me his 1971 Cutlass S with a '70 455, and last year I bought my dream car, a 1970 Chevelle. My dad still owns the '75 Camaro, but has since added a rolling-chassis '77 Camaro LT, with the possibility of a '69 Firebird from local seller (it would be great if he decided to). At 22, I have never felt so much personal joy and pride as I do simply driving around in these glorious machines. It's exhilerating just slowly cruising down the street. I'm thankful I'm part of this great hobby.
